Andhra Pradesh government to bring new IT policy

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra Pradesh IT minister Gudivada Amaranth said that the state government would bring a new IT policy soon.
He announced that the state government would bring Anchor IT companies to Vizag.

He said the Global Tech Summit would be conducted on February 16 and February 17 in Vizag and would change the IT Scenario in Vizag.
Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday along with the Pulsus Group CEO Gedela Srinubabu, the minister said that the state government plans to build up Vizag as a beach IT destination.

It would bring new better IT policies to attract investors and also make tailor-made policies for main MNCs.

The state government decided to release pending incentives to the IT companies along with MSMEs in the month of February.

To showcase the potential and ecosystem in Vizag for IT industries, many summits are planned to organize in Vizag, including Global Health Summit from January 6 to January 8, the IT infinity Summit on January 21 to January 22, the G20 summit on February 3 and February 4, Tech Summit on February 16 and February 17, Global Investment Summit on March 3 and March 4, And G20 program on April 24.

More than 30,000 IT employees are working in Vizag out of 46,000 in the state. Infosys is ready to commence operations while Amazon is planning to start operations and the state government is discussing with IBM to set up its branch in the port city and would discuss the issue with the CEO of IBM in the first week of February in America, the IT minister said.

The minister said that 14 percent of Telugu techies from Telangana and AP are across the world. Of which nine percent are from AP alone.
“Around 3000 Infosys employees are from Vizag city and its surrounding towns. The state government is now focusing on 10 sectors including Agriculture, Marine, IT, Tourism, Education, Health, Defence, Ports, Pharma, and others to showcase,” he said.
The Global Tech Summit Co-Convener and Pulsus company CEO Gedela Srinubabu said that around 1000 delegates would attend the tech summit. “We have already conducted road shows in Bhubaneswar, Delhi, and Hyderabad. We would also conduct 10 summits across the world in G20 countries. Our goal is to make India a destination for tech innovation. This Global Tech Summit covers a broad spectrum of businesses that include tech sessions, including pharma, fintech, Agritech, Edutech, metaverse, biotech, and start-up fest.

The Global Tech Summit 2023 announced an “Innovation Awards” section, in partnership with the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and the Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society (APIS) that recognizes and showcases innovation in emerging technologies in the fields of agriculture and healthcare.
